The Season Ahead, in Four Movements

If you’ve been craving “action,” good news: this newsletter is loaded with calls to it.
It is full of tangible things: dates, doorways, invitations you can hold in your hands.
And if that’s not enough, we intend to begin moving all forms of capital, including funding before the end of the year.
Between now and December, we’re moving through four connected movements.
Each one feeds the next:
- the first prepares the soil with a call for what has moved us,
- the second creates the container,
- the third calls in the wisdom,
- and the fourth is where something gets entrusted to our hands.
It’s a practice we’re doing together — and, we want to say plainly, an experiment.
When the cycle completes, we’ll look at what actually happened, tell the truth about it, and move from there.
1. Remember [gatherings, now through September]
We invite members to host small and large get togethers across the community at kitchen tables, regional circles, outdoors or online to tell stories about ten years of relationships and experiments and reconnect with one another.
2. Illuminate — [Online event, October 6, 8, 13, and 14]
Over four half-days, we will ‘sit around the fire’ hearing from different experiences from SheEO/Coralus eras. We’ll invite real talk, honest accounts and unpolished stories about the patterns, the many hands, and the conditions that created different futures.
3. Discern — [November]
We open an invitation to the wider field to bring their initiatives and proposals that are practicing the kind of futures we want to call forward. We will welcome community intuition and wisdom to recognize the people and projects ready for deeper support.
4. Steward — [January 2026]
The culmination of the cycle: many forms of capital begin to flow to a cohort of people who are ready to be the stewards of those futures.
Then we pause, look honestly at what happened, and let the next cycle be informed by this one.

First things first: the Remember gatherings
We keep using the word remember, and we mean at least three things by it.
- Remembering as action.
Moira Were brought us a word from ancient Hebrew: zakar.
In that tradition, to remember someone is to step in on their behalf. To show up. To act.
When we invite a remembering we’re inviting ourselves into that register: memory that obligates something, memory with hands.
2. Remembering forward.
Jess Keats reminded us that memory runs in both directions, and when we sense it as a palindrome, it yields deeper coherence. We stand somewhere in the middle of a timeline much longer than ourselves: past and future ancestors holding us in their prayers.
What will we remember about this time, twenty years from now? Part of remembering is being present to the futures already calling for us and letting ourselves be found by the wisdom they are calling for.
3. Re-membering as reconnection.
To re-member is to regain membership: to put back together what drifted apart. Each of us holds a piece of this story that no one else has.
- Remember the first five years expanding to five countries with annual reveals of who was selected in each country at big galas?
- The global 2020 Summit 5th anniversary followed by a pandemic the next day
- The racial justice working group
- The name change, from SheEO to Coralus
- The global online trade missions
- The LIFT Collective, Queer Collective, and BIPOC gatherings
- A bank matching our 0% interest loans
And… so many more.
The story genuinely cannot be assembled without you. This is your invitation, whether you’ve been active since the beginning, away for sometime or following along on social.
The practical part (the actual calls to action)
Anyone can host a Remember gathering.
Big or small, eight people in a living room or a hundred people in a public park, a sleepover or a forest walk, or anything in between and beyond. There is full creative license here.
We have a number of people who have already put up their hand from Teara hosting a remembering for the LIFT Collective, Frankie hosting around the Rooted program with Ecko, Saunders Farm September 9-10, Mary-Anne and Lisa hosting in Australia, Stacey in Aotearoa, Dori hosting a success v liberation Remembering, and… we hope many more.

→ Host your own. Sign up to host and curate it to fit your capacity and your passion with the people you already know or calling in others around a specific topic.
→ Register for the gathering at Saunders Farm. Our anchor “remembering” event – two days on the land near Ottawa.
What we remember together this season becomes what we illuminate, what we discern, and eventually what we steward.
