A Deep Dive Into Archetypes: Tenacious Disruptors

This is one of an 8-part series on the emerging archetypes

Tenacious Disruptors are persistent, working within systems to push back and spark  meaningful, incremental progress over time.

Tenacious Disruptors work against systems from within, using their focused approach to build momentum and impact. They recognize opportunities to make their corner of the world more sustainable, more inclusive, safer, and healthier, and enthusiastically invite others along. They believe that each person has the power to make a tremendous impact. Their tenacity means they stick with their work long-term, even when it feels like the change isn’t happening as fast as they would like. They believe in incremental change. In our map, this includes Ventures and Pods that take on all aspects of life, seeking to make the existing world better.

Tenacious Disruptors are on the opposite edge of our map from Fire Starters because they approach change so differently. They overlap extensively with Scaffolders because of their shared focus on improving existing systems and supporting the agency of individuals.

Tenacious Disruptors galvanize our ecosystem because their consistent, focused work can snowball, forever altering what people think they have the power to do. Tenacious Disruptors lean in to ask “what would be possible if each of us tried to make the world better each day?”
