Flower May Moon (Moving with Friction and Flourishing)

Under the May Flower Moon, we gathered around a question already moving through the field:

What if friction is not the opposite of flourishing, but part of the conditions that make it possible?

As Coralus founder Vicki Saunders had named, a sense of readiness had been taking shape.

  • To increase capacity
  • To build connection
  • To begin weaving the relational field we are here for

The Practice

As has become a steady rhythm within these gatherings, the conversation moved into practice.

Flourishing is not something that comes after friction. It is something that can be moved with.

Through this, a different relationship to friction began to take shape.

Not everything that appears in the way is misaligned. Some of it may be preparing the ground.

Angela Grant Saunders speaks to the friction of wanting to stay in control, and what begins to shift when that grip softens.

As the field opened, lived experiences surfaced:

  • Trust alongside fear
  • Urgency alongside patience
  • A sense of being “late” and the possibility that timing may be unfolding exactly as it needs to
  • Moments of contraction held next to quiet knowing
  • A pull to act, alongside a willingness to stay and observe
  • The recognition that what feels like a problem may be part of a much larger ecosystem

Under the Flower Moon, what unfolded was a reorientation.

Flourishing did not appear as certainty.

It appeared as readiness.

As sincerity.

As the quiet practice of learning to receive.

And perhaps this is what is being practiced now.
Learning to stay with what is here long enough to recognize what is already becoming possible.
